GoKawiilSony clarifies its full-frame mirrorless camera naming system
Sony's full-frame mirrorless lineup is organized into distinct model lines: the A1 series for high-resolution, high-speed professional work; the A9 for sports and action shooters, now featuring a global shutter in the A9 III; and the A7 line split into four sub-series—standard A7, high-resolution A7R, video-focused A7S, and others—each targeting different balances of resolution, speed and video capability. Roman numerals in model names indicate version numbers, such as the A1 II and A7R VI.
