Apple adds Adaptive Dark Mode to Safari 27.3 beta

Apple's Safari 27.3 beta introduces Adaptive Dark Mode, a feature that automatically converts light websites to a dark appearance when a user has enabled dark mode and the system appearance is set to dark. The feature ignores pages that already declare dark-mode support via color-scheme CSS or meta tags, and otherwise analyzes a page's colors to decide whether to invert them, using a custom color matrix that inverts luminosity while preserving hue and targets WCAG 4.5:1 text contrast.

Apple's iOS 27.3 beta adds Vertical Tabs and Adaptive Dark Mode to Safari

Apple has released the first developer betas of iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, and macOS 27.3, introducing a Vertical Tabs layout for Safari alongside an Adaptive Dark Mode feature that generates dark versions of sites lacking native support. The update also expands Siri's ability to directly manage tabs, including moving, sorting, and closing them.
