GoKawiilWalmart launches Agent Gateway to let AI agents shop its stores
Walmart announced an Agent Gateway, a new MCP server letting approved AI agents search its inventory and complete purchases for customers across Walmart and Sam's Club. CEO John Furner unveiled the system at the Masters of Scale Summit, building on existing integrations with Meta's Muse, ChatGPT and Gemini. The company says the gateway lets agents shop without sharing personal data or purchase history, and includes tools to flag agent-made purchases and let shoppers control agent permissions.
