Jensen Huang floats $2,000 annual per-GPU software fee for AI agents

At GTC Berlin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said running the company's AI agent software on each GPU costs roughly $2,000 per year, calling software licensing an increasingly major part of Nvidia's business. The figure, reported by The Register, is lower than Nvidia's existing AI Enterprise suite pricing of $4,500 per GPU annually, or $3,600 under a five-year deal, and it remains unclear how the two pricing schemes relate or when the new figure might take effect.

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna told investors on the company's Q3 earnings call that open weight AI models, which scored far below closed frontier models in 2024 benchmarks, have closed much of that performance gap by late 2025. He said open models now deliver roughly 90 percent of frontier model performance at 10 to 25 percent of the token cost, and argued this makes them suitable for most routine enterprise tasks like summarizing emails or reviewing contracts.

Survey: Only 34% of enterprise AI agent projects reach production

A survey of 300 data, AI and technology executives found that on average just 34% of organizations' agentic AI projects make it into production, hampered by legacy data systems, security concerns, and fragmented data access. A smaller group of 'production leaders' averaged 61% of projects advancing beyond pilot, correlating with stronger semantic knowledge capabilities. Data fragmentation was the most-cited barrier overall, cited by 55% of respondents, while production leaders were more likely to flag security and privacy concerns (72%).
