GoKawiilr/opensource moderators ban AI-built projects and non-English posters
Moderators of Reddit's r/opensource announced on October 24 a sweeping rulebook barring projects built with or for AI, alongside new requirements that submissions be actively maintained for at least a year, have multiple contributors, an existing community, and an OSI-approved license. The rules also require posting accounts to be at least a year old with a history of meaningful contributions, bar requests for maintainers, and tell non-English speakers to post elsewhere since moderators say they cannot reliably tell AI-written English from AI-translated text.
