Apple has started beta testing iOS 27.2, just days after releasing iOS 27 and confirming that iOS 27.1 will ship exclusively with the upcoming iPhone Duo on October 23. The new beta introduces a redesigned Health app with Insights, Longevity, and Browse tabs, including a Health age metric drawn from Apple Watch data, plus profile support in the Apple TV app for the first time on iOS.
Apple's new Series 12 and Ultra 4 look identical to prior models but pack a new S11 chip with a secure microphone-processing exclave and a redesigned health sensor array for more frequent, accurate, and efficient readings. Larger EKG electrodes and upgraded photodiodes ship now, while several AI-driven health features remain unavailable until later this year.
Apple's long-rumored Health app revamp, internally known as Project Mulberry, missed its expected debut in iOS 26.4 and again at WWDC27. Speculation now points to a possible unveiling alongside the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 next month, given Apple's history of introducing health features outside its June keynote.
