GoKawiilNYT Cooking rolls out AI tool for recipe substitutions and scaling
The New York Times is testing an AI feature in its Cooking app, announced by senior editor Genevieve Ko, that suggests ingredient and equipment substitutions and scales recipes for different serving sizes. The feature, accessed via a chatbot text box on recipe pages, is currently available to all Cooking subscribers on iOS and will expand further soon. Customized recipes remain private and cannot be shared, and users cannot disable the feature though Ko says it is optional to use.
