GMKtec has launched the Evo-X5 Pro, an AI-focused mini-PC built around AMD's top-tier Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 chip paired with 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory. The 2TB SSD configuration costs $6,799, while the 4TB version reaches $7,099, with the chip's three power profiles ranging from 54W to 160W peak.
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Windows PC makers including Dell, Acer, Lenovo and Packard Bell showed off affordable, colorful mid-range laptops aimed squarely at competing with Apple's MacBook Neo. Lenovo's IdeaPad Vibe stood out with seven color options and swappable keycaps, while Nvidia and AMD pushed AI-focused hardware, including Nvidia's RTX Spark platform and AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 chip with up to 192GB of unified memory.
Lenovo introduced the ThinkCentre X Ultra ahead of IFA, a compact mini workstation built around AMD's previously unannounced Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor with an integrated Radeon 8065S GPU and up to 128GB of soldered LPDDR5x memory. The machine, measuring roughly 7.2 by 7.2 by 2 inches, supports dual 4TB Gen5 SSDs, Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, and an NPU rated at 55 TOPS, and is expected to launch in November 2026 starting around $3,669.
