Bloom raises $3.6M seed round for AI-driven US manufacturing marketplace

Detroit-based startup Bloom has closed a $3.6 million seed round led by SNAK Venture Partners, with participation from Flyover Capital, Mana Ventures, and Detroit-area investors. Originally founded in 2023 to help mobility companies outsource manufacturing and logistics, Bloom pivoted into a marketplace model that uses AI agents to connect buyers with domestic suppliers, parts makers, and manufacturing services. CEO Justin Kosmides says the company has facilitated over 2,000 matches for more than 140 companies so far.

Sherline Tools to Wind Down US Manufacturing by October 2026

Sherline Products, the American maker of precision lathes, mills, and small CNC machines, told customers it is beginning to shut down manufacturing operations. The company says it will keep building and selling machines, tooling, and replacement parts as equipment, materials, and staffing allow through the end of October 2026, though some product lines will stop sooner than others.
