Italian farmer revives ancient seven-eared wheat found in family attic
Claudio Grossi, a Parma farmer, discovered an unidentified sack of seeds left by his great-grandfather while cleaning his attic in the early 1990s. He planted them in manure expecting nothing, and one variety grew into six-foot-tall plants bearing seven grain ears each, with unusually large, multicolored kernels unlike any wheat he had seen before.
