Google's Play Services v26.37 update, released September 21, extends the Motion Assist feature beyond Pixel devices to any Android phone running Android 17 or later. The tool displays small visual bubbles along screen edges that move in sync with a vehicle's motion, using the phone's sensors to help reduce motion sickness. Users can customize the bubbles' appearance and choose automatic or manual activation.
Google has rolled out its September 2026 Pixel Drop, a smaller update separate from the broader Android Drop released earlier this month. The headline feature upgrades the Pixel VIPs widget, first introduced in June 2025, by letting users call or text saved contacts directly from the home screen instead of tapping into a profile card first. The update also expands Scam Detection to monitor text messages for suspicious content and flag likely scams as users type responses.
Google has started rolling out a new 'Remembered' tab within its Find Hub app, letting users log the locations of untracked physical objects using Gemini AI or manual entry. Google's September Android Drop update lets users insert collaborative checklists directly into Google Messages threads, powered by Google Keep. Anyone in a chat, including group threads, can create, edit, or check off items without leaving the conversation, and Messages will also surface a 'Create List' option through Suggested actions.
