GoKawiilAndroid 16 becomes top version at 25.4% share while Android 17 adoption stalls at 1%
New distribution data cited from Google via Android Studio shows Android 16 now leads all Android versions with 25.4% of active devices as of October 2026, up sharply from 7.5% in December. Android 17, released in June, has reached only 1% of devices, while older versions like Android 13 and Android 11 still hold 11.8% and 10.5% shares respectively.
