Google has released a native Gemini AI desktop application for Windows, following a similar Mac app launched in April. The app offers image generation via Nano Banana, video generation through Gemini Omni for eligible subscribers, and access to multiple Gemini model tiers depending on a user's Google subscription, all launchable with an Alt+spacebar shortcut.
Users across iOS, Android, and web are reporting that YouTube and YouTube Music apps hang or fail to load content, with some unable to play older videos or seeing blank home pages. The issue reportedly persists even after reinstalling apps and clearing cache, and some users say they've experienced it for months. Google has not yet acknowledged the problem publicly.

A federal court rejected claims by rival startup Project Bluebird that X Corp. had abandoned the TWITTER, TWEET and Bird Logo trademarks after Elon Musk rebranded the platform. Project Bluebird had filed intent-to-use applications for TWITTER and TWEET and rebranded its own app from twitter.new to tweet.app following the ruling. The court pointed to X's Apple App Store listing, which still describes the app as 'formerly known as Twitter,' as evidence of continued bona fide trademark use.
