GoKawiilUS creative-industry employment falls 200,000 in four years amid AI's rise
Employment across America's media, film, and arts sectors has dropped by more than 200,000 jobs over the past four years, with about 50,000 of those losses occurring in just the last year, according to Apricitas newsletter analysis. The decline is notable because it is happening without a broader economic recession, and coincides with the spread of AI tools capable of generating text, images, music, and other creative content cheaply and at scale.
