Amazon unveiled a redesigned Kindle lineup that removes the raised bezel for a flush-front look, using capacitive touch and haptics to create a 'dead zone' that ignores a resting thumb. The base six-inch Kindle is now 6.8mm thick, weighs 140 grams, and turns pages 30% faster, starting at $149.99 with a new aluminum-backed option. The Kindle Paperwhite also got a thinner, lighter redesign with a larger display.
