CNET testing found Vitamix's $380 VX1 blender performs on par with the company's $500 5200 model, both featuring 64-ounce capacity and 10 speeds. The VX1, which replaced the discontinued Explorian, adds a pulse mode, self-cleaning program, slightly more horsepower and a smaller footprint, and it topped other blenders by turning raw almonds into almond butter in just over a minute.
