GoKawiilChristian saints Barlaam and Josaphat trace back to the Buddha's life story
A widely venerated Christian legend about two saints, Barlaam and Josaphat of India, turns out to be a retelling of the Gautama Buddha's biography. The tale traveled from Sanskrit accounts of the Bodhisattva through Persian and Arabic versions before appearing as a Georgian Christian text in the 10th century, eventually spreading across Europe as far as Iceland.
