The Center for AI Safety has launched a Wage Loss Dashboard tracking AI-attributed layoffs by state since January 2026, updated through September data. It estimates roughly 117,000 job cuts nationally tied to AI this year, translating to about $8.5 billion in annual wage losses, with per-person impact varying widely by state—$56 in California versus $14 in Alaska.
