GM is shutting down its Brownstown Battery Assembly Plant south of Detroit, which supplied battery packs for the Cadillac Celestiq and battery packs and drive units for the Corvette E-Ray. A GM spokesperson told TechCrunch the closure stems from an expiring lease on the site, not the company's EV strategy, and that affected employees and work will be relocated to other GM facilities.
