Nvidia denies security risk from CEO's meetings with Chinese customer exec

Nvidia responded to a New York Times report alleging CEO Jensen Huang's interactions with Megaspeed executive Ms. Huang raised espionage concerns, saying such meetings are routine customer engagements involving no sensitive trade secrets. Megaspeed said it is taking the allegations seriously, has hired outside counsel to investigate, and has notified U.S. authorities of its cooperation.

Report: NVIDIA's Jensen Huang reportedly surveilled by suspected Chinese intelligence operative Alice Huang

The New York Times reports that Alice Huang, who presents herself as CEO of chip buyer Megaspeed and was briefly listed as its managing director before being removed from that role, is suspected by US officials of acting as a Chinese government intelligence asset. She was photographed sitting close to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang in 2024 around the time Megaspeed began making large chip purchases, and the Times says she remains under surveillance. According to the report, Jensen Huang was never given a standard 'defensive briefing' warning him he may have been targeted.

Report: Alleged Chinese spy had close ties to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang

The New York Times reports that Alice Huang, a Chinese citizen and top executive at Singapore-based Megaspeed, developed a close relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang that drew scrutiny from US intelligence agencies, which reportedly concluded she was passing information to Beijing. The two were photographed together at social and business events in Taipei in June 2024 and May 2025, though the report found no evidence Huang was aware of her alleged activities. Megaspeed, an Nvidia customer that supplies AI computing to Chinese firms including Alibaba, is separately under US investigation over suspicions it helped circumvent export controls on advanced Nvidia chips.
