GoKawiilBrazil clears Amazon forest to build highway ahead of COP30 summit in Belém
Brazilian authorities have cut down a stretch of Amazon rainforest to construct a four-lane highway intended to ease traffic congestion in Belém ahead of the COP30 climate summit. Local residents living along the route say they will see little benefit from the road, which they expect to mainly serve truck traffic rather than their communities.
