Interpol: AI speeds up scams, doesn't reinvent cybercrime
Bjorn R. Watne, Interpol's global chief information security officer, told CNBC that AI is mainly accelerating existing fraud and scam tactics rather than creating new ones. He said AI lets scammers target many victims at once and use better translation and fake digital identities, making fraudulent interactions harder to spot.
