Vibe-coded tools let owners strip ads and bloat from Android and Google TVs

Projects such as Cleanyourtv (formerly tv-vibehack), tv-detox, and dumbtv have surged in popularity, using LLM-assisted coding to remove ads, block tracking, and speed up smart TVs running Android or Google TV. The tools rely on existing developer modes and Android Debug Bridge access rather than rooting or firmware hacking, making changes reversible, and many users are also building custom homescreen launchers, including one styled after a Pokémon town.

Rust compiler marks derived trait methods #[inline] by default

Rust's #[derive(Debug)], #[derive(Clone)] and similar macros automatically attach an #[inline] attribute to the generated methods, as shown by expanding the macros or noted in the language reference. This behavior isn't formally guaranteed by the language specification but is consistently observed in current compiler output.

Researchers use laser fault injection to bypass RP2350 secure debug lock

Security researchers demonstrated that Raspberry Pi's RP2350 microcontroller (revision A4) can have its permanently disabled Secure debug re-enabled through photon-emission microscopy combined with SWD-guided laser fault injection. By pinpointing the exact register controlling debug enablement and firing precisely targeted laser pulses, the team flipped two bits to restore debugger access to the chip's Secure world, later extracting a protected secret from one-time-programmable memory after a rescue reset bypassed the runtime lock.

Python quirks: pre-declared constants like True, False, None behave inconsistently

A developer analysis highlights that Python's six built-in constants—True, False, None, __debug__, Ellipsis, and NotImplemented—are implemented in inconsistent ways under the hood. True, False, and None are hardcoded as lexer keywords rather than resolved through normal name lookup, while __debug__ is a regular identifier that uniquely cannot be assigned to, even as an attribute.
