One hundred days into the current Ebola outbreak, the Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded over 5,200 cases, making it the country's fastest-growing epidemic on record. Cases are averaging about 90 confirmed infections daily, a pace higher than seen in the 2014-2016 West Africa outbreak or the 2018-2020 DRC outbreak, and the virus has now spread to a sixth province, with Ituri accounting for roughly 85% of cases and 79% of deaths.
