Intel unveiled architectural details of its next-generation Xeon 7 'Diamond Rapids' server processors at Hot Chips 2026, revealing a design with up to 256 P-cores and 1.28 GB of last-level cache, targeted for a 2027 data center launch. The chips use Intel's 18A-P process for core chiplets, add AVX 10.2 instructions, and switch from EMIB to UCIe-S packaging alongside Foveros Direct 3D bonding to link compute and fabric tiles.
