GoKawiilNew AlpineBSD project pairs NetBSD kernel with Alpine Linux userland, bans AI-generated code
A nascent open-source operating system called AlpineBSD has been announced, combining NetBSD's kernel and libc with a port of Alpine Linux's userland tools. The project has published an explicit AI policy declaring any code, documentation or assets containing generative AI output as 'tainted,' and its repositories are hosted on Sourcehut under an account linked to Drew DeVault. The OS is in very early stages, with no installation media yet available, only a manual bootstrap process.
