Startup Radical Numerics has started an FDA-authorized clinical trial using bacteriophages designed by artificial intelligence to treat a patient's infection. CEO Dr. Eric Nguyen says the approach could create a virus tailored to a specific infection in days, but the research has not yet been peer-reviewed and success is not guaranteed.
