GoKawiilCTM360 identifies 1,000+ fake gift card scams impersonating major brands
Cybersecurity firm CTM360 says it has tracked more than 1,000 incidents of fraudulent reward portals and fake gift card giveaways that impersonate brands including PlayStation, Sephora, SHEIN, Walmart and Amazon. The scams use fake celebrity endorsements, cloned logos and bogus 'human verification' steps to push victims toward data harvesting, app installs and recurring paid subscriptions rather than delivering any actual gift cards.
