Google is piloting a new 'Family' entry at the top of the Settings app on some Pixel 11 phones, according to Android Authority. The hub consolidates family members, shared Google One storage, subscriptions like YouTube Premium and Google AI, shared calendar events, and live location sharing in one place. Currently only a handful of Pixel 11 users have reported seeing it, and Google has not confirmed a wider rollout.
Greenlight has introduced a proprietary voice assistant on its Family Hub, a digital wall calendar device that syncs with Google, iCalendar and Outlook calendars. The feature sits behind the product's $10-a-month membership, alongside existing tools like meal planning, chore tracking, financial management for teens, and family location tracking via the Greenlight app or a separate GPS tracker.
Samsung confirmed that a firmware update pushed through its SmartThings app this week caused many Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerators in South Korea to lose power and go offline, showing an update error on their screens. The company said the update was mistakenly released during internal testing and has since halted its distribution while preparing a fix. Affected owners reported spoiled groceries, with some losing large amounts of food during the Chuseok holiday period.
