GoKawiilStudies find Earth-like microbes could survive conditions in Enceladus' ocean
Researchers led by Frank Postberg of Freie Universitat Berlin found that microbes resembling those near Earth's hydrothermal vents survived lab conditions replicating Enceladus' subsurface ocean. A related study found that material ejected in the moon's plumes may naturally sort into ice grains that concentrate salts, organics and potential biosignatures.
