Six of nine independent advisers quit Meta-led GIFCT anti-terrorism board

Six of the nine independent experts on the advisory committee for the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism resigned Monday, according to a letter and interviews reviewed by WIRED. The move follows a July email from Meta content policy VP Nell McCarthy proposing changes that would let tech companies pick new committee members and bar the group from evaluating GIFCT's own performance or issuing collective recommendations.
