New open-source Rust tool OmniDiff offers content-aware Git diffing
A developer has released OmniDiff, an open-source command-line diff tool written in Rust that claims to handle 99.95% of code changes and diff 98.8% of changes using content-specific algorithms rather than plain text comparison. It supports specialized diffing for code, images, fonts, cursors, archives, message catalogs and PDFs, with benchmark tables comparing its speed and accuracy against alternatives. It is installable via cargo, Homebrew, or signed apt repositories for Debian and Ubuntu.
