WiCi One eGPU adds Wi-Fi 7 wireless link and 4TB SSD for local AI use

WiCi has unveiled the WiCi One, an external GPU enclosure that connects to host computers over Wi-Fi 7 instead of a wired PCIe or USB link, and includes a built-in 4TB SSD. The company says custom driver software makes the OS treat the GPU as a locally attached device while caching, deduplicating and compressing data to reduce the effects of network latency, and it supports Python libraries and an HTTP API so multiple machines could share the same card.

virtio-nvgpu project shows KVM guests hitting near-native Nvidia GPU performance

An open-source project called virtio-nvgpu forwards Nvidia kernel driver ioctls directly between a Linux KVM guest and host, letting the guest run Nvidia's unmodified user-mode drivers for Vulkan and NVENC without API-level translation. Benchmarks on an RTX 3060 show guest frame times within about 2% of bare metal for frames above roughly 2ms, with CPU usage in the guest matching or slightly beating the host over a 12-second, ~100fps test.
