GoKawiilOmniPTY launches as renamed Rust terminal emulator for macOS and Linux
OmniPTY, a GPU-rendered terminal emulator built in Rust, bundles features like a vim-driven file tree, workspace layouts, vim-style copy mode and a git/ssh-aware status bar directly into the app rather than requiring separate tools like tmux. The project was previously called Oxide and renamed in version 0.9.0 due to a naming conflict with an unrelated company; existing installs migrate automatically via the in-app updater or a Homebrew cask swap.
