Scientists created macroscopic graphene oxide films by assembling surface-folded, multilayer graphene oxide flakes into a 'fold-clasping lamellar structure.' The resulting films achieved 2.9 GPa strength, 84.5 MJ/m³ toughness, and 5% elastic strain, combining properties that are typically difficult to achieve together in 2D material films.
Scientists studying a rhombohedral graphene device mapped two distinct electronic phases—an anomalous metal (AM) state and a superconducting (SC) state—by measuring resistance across varying gate voltages, magnetic fields, temperatures and currents. Using multiple voltage probe pairs on a second device, they found the SC and AM regions occupy consistent boundaries in the phase diagram, matching results from an earlier primary device, though the absolute resistance values differed between contact pairs.
Fender has released the Fender Audio app for iPhone, adding EQ presets and a custom five-band equalizer to its $299 MIX wireless headphones. The app also shows battery status and offers configurable Home Screen widgets for quick access to device settings.
