GoKawiilExpedition finds no evidence of ancient human settlement in Arabia's Rub' al Khali desert
Archaeologists conducting a new survey of the Rub' al Khali, the vast sand sea covering nearly a third of the Arabian peninsula, found no stone tools or other signs that early humans ever lived there. This is despite the region once being a green, well-watered savannah during ancient wet climatic periods, and despite abundant evidence of human presence in surrounding areas.
