Researchers found that an ancient Greek harbor, carved into the coastline to serve trade and military purposes, sat directly on a network of active geological faults. The engineering project reshaped the shoreline but left the port vulnerable to the seismic activity beneath it.
Stripe developed an internal tool called Harbor that lets its teams prototype software using an AI agent. According to Stripe, the tool compiles prototypes directly in the browser as the agent works.

He is a delegate for the United Auto Workers union representing postdocs and research scientists, and last year he founded SCOPE, a Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory-backed program that teaches scientists about policy, communication and career resources.
