Ford's 2027 Fathom EV truck to include built-in inverter for home backup power

Ford confirmed its upcoming Fathom electric pickup, due in 2027 and priced under $30,000, will feature bidirectional charging with an integrated inverter capable of delivering up to 10 kW to a home. This removes the need for the costly standalone inverter required by the discontinued F-150 Lightning. Owners will still need to buy Ford's Home Power Station and a new Home Backup Panel, though both are expected to cost significantly less than the Lightning's equivalent hardware.
