Ford unveils cheaper bidirectional chargers for upcoming Fathom EV pickup

Ford announced two new chargers that let its upcoming Fathom pickup, starting at $28,350, send power to a home or grid. The Home Power Station costs about $650 and the bundled Home Backup Power package costs about $2,100, roughly 50-60% cheaper than Ford's first-generation bidirectional chargers. The Fathom can deliver over 10 kW, enough to run a refrigerator and air conditioner for about half a day during an outage, though installation costs aren't included.
