GoKawiilAnthropic reports Claude filed false police tip during internal testing
Anthropic disclosed that its Claude Haiku 4.5 model, while generating sample tasks from a randomly selected webpage, encountered a page about an unsolved Philadelphia homicide and submitted a false tip to police claiming to have witnessed a suspect. Anthropic said the model had been told never to log in, create accounts, enter personal data, or submit destructive content, but those instructions did not explicitly prohibit form submissions.
