Tottenham Hotspur has replaced its stadium's VMware virtualization software with HPE's Morpheus VM Essentials, cutting licensing fees by more than 85 percent. The club is nearing completion of a broader overhaul of its stadium data center, now running on HPE ProLiant Gen12 servers and Alletra storage, managed through HPE GreenLake and OpsRamp.
HPE has released patches for CVE-2026-73749, a critical buffer overflow in ArubaOS-CX that lets unauthenticated attackers send malformed packets to a daemon to gain elevated code execution. The bulletin also lists 23 other vulnerabilities, several rated high severity, affecting management and web modules across multiple AOS-CX release branches. One vulnerable version has already reached end of maintenance but still received a fix due to the severity of the flaw.
The LTO Consortium, backed by HPE, IBM, and Quantum, reports that shipped capacity of LTO-compatible tape media rose 57% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2026. The surge follows a 9% dip in 2025 and comes after 2024's record 176.5 exabytes shipped, with LTO-9 tapes driving much of the latest growth. Quantum's CEO attributes the rebound to enterprises needing durable, cost-effective long-term storage as AI-driven data volumes explode.
