Hacking group leaks personal data of 40,000+ DHS employees
A hacktivist group called Department of Peace said it breached DHS's single sign-on system, stealing names, phone numbers and addresses of more than 40,000 agency personnel, including undercover operatives. The data was shared with Distributed Denial of Secrets and published in a searchable database called Icepick, built with help from journalist Ryan Ottignon and hacker maia arson crimew. DHS confirmed it is aware of a potential breach and is working to address it, with over 21,000 records tied to CBP staff and roughly 10,000 to ICE and its Homeland Security Investigations unit.
