Researchers Find Residential Proxy Traffic Routed Through White House Network

Cybersecurity firm Layer3 Intel detected residential proxy activity on AS2650, the network block registered to the Executive Office of the President. Investigators also traced software tied to the proxy provider Infatica, a company owned by a Russian entrepreneur whose prior server-rental business was linked to 2016 election-system hacking attempts in Arizona and Illinois. No evidence has emerged that the proxy access was used to launch an attack on the White House itself.
