GoKawiilinMusic to open-source MPC and Moog hardware for modding community
inMusic, which owns Akai, Moog and Native Instruments, says it will release source code and an SDK for devices like Akai's upcoming MPC Sample Key, letting developers modify hardware without voiding warranties or bricking units. CEO Jack O'Donnell told The Verge the company is already seeding devices to developers and will showcase 22 modifiable products from its brands at NAMM's Creator Lab in Anaheim.
