AI-focused insurance startup Corgi Insurance has laid off employees who were building out a chain of company-branded coffee shops in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The move follows the shutdown of one of its two existing cafe locations after city officials found it operating without a required permit, and comes as Corgi originally aimed to open 100 cafes within six months.
