Intel says Fab 28 blast will cost $600 million, hit Xeon output into 2027

Intel disclosed on its earnings call that October's fatal explosion at Fab 28 in Kiryat Gat, Israel, shut the plant for roughly two weeks and will cost about $600 million in lost revenue across two quarters. CFO Dave Zinsner said production should resume by the end of this week, with Intel projecting roughly $300 million in lost revenue in both Q4 2026 and Q1 2027, plus a 2-point hit to fourth-quarter non-GAAP gross margin. The blast killed two workers and seriously injured another.
