Researchers build fibre-based touch display woven into a garment sleeve
Scientists developed a 'digital pixel fibre' that combines addressable display pixels, in-fibre circuitry and a touch-sensing layer within a single textile fibre. They wove these fibres into a sleeve to create a functioning GUI with a 96×54-pixel display, 30 fps refresh rate and 8-bit colour, capable of audio-video playback and wireless data exchange while remaining washable and flexible.
