Apple has begun distributing beta 3 versions of its latest software updates, including iPadOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and visionOS 27.2, to developers. The rollout comes two weeks after the previous beta releases, with no public beta available yet. Additional features may be introduced alongside upcoming hardware launches.
Apple's upcoming iPadOS 27.2 update will add a contextual Siri popup that appears when users select text with a trackpad or mouse, offering options like proofreading and rewriting suggestions. It will also bring user profiles to the Apple TV app on iPad, mirroring the feature already available on Apple TV 4K via tvOS.
Apple has introduced a security feature called Impersonation Risk Detection in iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 aimed at flagging social engineering scams. When a supported app detects a user is about to take a sensitive action, like making a payment or changing a password, it analyzes account and device signals and returns one of three risk levels: unknown, medium, or high. The receiving app then determines how to respond to that risk score.
