HBO Max has begun streaming the live-action horror anthology Strange: Junji Ito's Tales for Sleepless Nights, which originally aired a 12-episode season on TV Tokyo. Two episodes are currently available in the US, and a third, 'Face Thief' directed by Yûta Shimotsu, premiered at New York Comic Con based on Ito's story 'The Face Burglar.'
A developer has released Ito, a library for building terminal user interfaces using the Lua programming language, shared via a Show HN post. The tool works by importing it with require("ito") and returning a function that constructs a view, with an ito.state(value) helper for managing values that change over time.
Researchers demonstrated that water drops sitting on various hydrophobic and metallic surfaces can spontaneously build up electrical charge without any external triggering, and that this self-generated charge is sufficient to accelerate corrosion of underlying copper and other metals. The experiments used engineered materials such as PFOTS-coated quartz and ITO glass, Teflon-coated copper, and common items like PVC boards and copper foil tape to show the effect across different surfaces.
