The landmark British documentary series that began in 1964 by following 14 seven-year-olds from different social backgrounds is ending with a final installment, 70 Up, airing on ITV. Participant Jackie Bassett, chosen partly for her chatty personality, has appeared in every update since childhood, and the series has tracked the group's lives every seven years for six decades. It became the longest-running documentary series in history and was named the most influential TV show of the past 50 years in 2024.
